Plagiarism Policy

International Journal of Technology-Enhanced Physical Education and Sport maintains a zero-tolerance policy regarding plagiarism. Authors must ensure that they have written entirely original works, and if the authors have used the work and/or words of others, this has been appropriately cited or quoted.

Screening Process
All manuscripts submitted to this journal will be screened for plagiarism using Turnitin or iThenticate software. This process is conducted:

  • Immediately after submission (initial screening).
  • Before the final publication of the accepted manuscript.

Threshold of Similarity

  • The maximum acceptable similarity index is 20%.
  • The similarity from a single source must not exceed 3% to ensure the depth and breadth of the literature used.
  • If the similarity index exceeds the threshold, the manuscript will be returned to the author for revision or rejected immediately depending on the severity of the overlap.

Types of Plagiarism
This journal considers the following as serious ethical violations:

  • Direct Plagiarism: Word-for-word transcription of a section of someone else’s work without attribution.
  • Self-Plagiarism (Text Recycling): Reusing significant portions of the author's own previously published work without proper citation.
  • Mosaic/Patchwork Plagiarism: Combining different portions of other works and stitching them together into a new paper without original contribution.
  • Improper Citation: Failing to credit the original source or providing incorrect citations that lead to a different source.

Consequences

If plagiarism is detected by the editorial board at any stage of the publication process:

  • Before Publication: The manuscript will be rejected, and the author may be barred from submitting to the journal for a specific period.
  • After Publication: The journal reserves the right to issue a formal retraction or correction, and the author's institution may be notified.
